Marvel teases Rihanna’s song for “Black Panther”
9PM ET, Oct 25th: Marvel drops a 15 seconds long clip on all their social media that highlights the letter “R” out of the “Wakanda Forever” font. Fans are sure that the franchise is teasing a Rihanna song for the new “Black Panther” movie that several sources talked about for weeks. Marvel ends the teaser with no audio with a date: October 28th, which is most likely the day the song would be released, as new music usually drops on Fridays. The ad was also spotted at a huge digital billboard in New York City.
Rihanna comments on Marvel’s Instagram post
There is still no official announcement of Rihanna’s involvement in the new soundtrack, but even Rihanna seems to hint at a collaboration. She commented two emojis under Marvel’s Instagram post, which she barely ever do with no actual context.
Reports on Rihanna’s involvement spread since October 17, ever since HITS Daily Double first reported about it. Since then multiple sources agreed to the rumors. Telvin Lewis, Spotify Playlist Curator for Disney (which Marvel is a part of), reveals that Rihanna indeed two songs for the soundtrack: “All I can say is… vocal RiRi is here! She’s about to eat!”
Meanwhile it is also worth to mention that two Marvel stars were cast to model in Rihanna’s upcoming SavageX Show Vol. 4 that will be released Nov 9 on Prime Video. Most recently even Ludwig Goransson, the producer of the “Black Panther” score, followed Rihanna on Instagram.
The movie hits theaters first Nov 9 in selected countries (Nov 11 for the US) while the world premiere is today in Los Angeles (Oct 26).
